🏫 MOVEit Security Incident Settlement

What Happened?
In May 2023, a vulnerability in the MOVEit Transfer software led to a data breach affecting NSC. Sensitive information, including Social Security numbers, was exposed. NSC has agreed to a $9.95 million settlement to resolve claims related to this incident.

Who's Eligible?
Individuals whose Social Security numbers were included in the files affected by the MOVEit security incident between May 28 and May 31, 2023.

💰 What Can You Claim?
You have options:

1) Reimbursement for Losses:
💵 Ordinary Losses: Up to $2,500 for expenses like bank fees or lost time.
💰️ Extraordinary Losses: Up to $10,000 for more significant issues like identity theft.

FYI: To claim reimbursement, you'll need to provide documentation of your losses (e.g., bank statements, receipts).

2) Alternative Cash Payment:
💸 A flat $100 payment (subject to adjustment based on the number of claims).

Both Options Can Get Credit Monitoring:
💻️ Two years of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection services.

📝 How to File a Claim

📆 Deadline: May 26, 2025(NSC Settlement)

Steps:
🌐 Visit nscsettlement.com.
🔘 Click on "Submit a Claim."
🧑‍💻 Enter your Unique ID and PIN from the notice you received.
📞 If you can't find your Unique ID and PIN, call (888) 366-9156 to request them.

⚠️ What Happens If You Do Nothing?
If you don't file a claim, you won't receive any compensation, and you'll forfeit your rights to sue NSC over this incident in the future.

I.e., Your rights will be affected, and you won't get a payment. 

TL;DR:
If your Social Security number was compromised in the 2023 NSC data breach, you could be entitled to up to $12,500 – or at least $100. Don't miss out – submit your claim by May 26, 2025.
