💰️ How BIG Can Settlements Get?

The answer: HUGE

But don’t just take my word for it.

In the spirit of learning, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and see how big these class actions settlements can really get:

🚭️ Tobacco Settlement: $206 Billion (🤯) 
Philip Morris, RJ Reynolds, and others agreed to this massive 1998 deal, paying out over 25 years to cover medical costs for smoking-related injuries in 46 states.

🚗 Volkswagen Emission Scheme: $14.7 Billion
In 2016, VW got caught cheating emissions tests. 475,000 diesel owners scored cash payments and buybacks in this record settlement.

📉 Enron Securities Fraud: $7.2 Billion
Enron’s epic 2006 collapse led to a $7.2 billion settlement for defrauded investors. Over 1.5 million investors got a piece of the pie.

💳 Visa Mastercard Settlement: $5.5 Billion (ongoing)
Millions of business owners could be eligible to recover their share of overcharged interchange transaction fees between 2004-2019. This case is a CAC priority! 

This one's big – it ranks as the 4th largest class action settlement ever!

🏘️ Real Estate Commissions: $980M (ongoing)
Sold a house between 2017-2024? You might be able to recoup some of those commission fees you overpaid, thanks to a class action targeting NAR's practices.
