🚚 Your Delivery Truck was (even) less E-Friendly than you thought…

And now Hino Motors is now paying truck driver back $238M

Good afternoon. Love getting caught behind an 18-wheeler’s exhaust plume and think, “this is exactly where I want to be?” Us neither. Turns out that a prominent player, Hino Motors, allegedly manipulated various emission control systems to misrepresent how eco-friendly certain trucks were… and now they’re paying back a BIG bill to truck owners and lessees. Let’s dig in.

SETTLEMENT SPOTLIGHT
🚚 Hino Motors Emissions Misrepresentation…

Who can handle that smoke?? | Gif by dieselrcorp on Giphy

Sure seems like there are more 18-wheelers out and about than ever. Probably not the most eco-friendly way to get around. And if you ever trailed one down the highway thought that plume of black smoke wasn’t “perfectly good for breathing”... turns out it was probably as bad as you thought 😬.

What Happened?
A class action lawsuit alleges that the emission levels in certain Hino Motors’ Trucks were manipulated via control components, misrepresenting emissions levels and damaging purchasers and lessees of the vehicles.

What If I Don’t Drive a Truck..?
You’re probably outta luck on this one (sorry). Know what you could do?

Forward this email to someone you know that does and make their day! Maybe enjoy a nice dinner (on them 😏) once they get paid back.

BUT if you ARE (or know someone who’s) a truck driver, own a small logistics empire, or are a Taylor Swift Eras Tour Truck Driver – pay attention👇
